can't get category grid to display

hi guys, am using my own very simple theme – your product page builder works just fine but am unable to show the category grid, it just displays the default.

i’ve followed the instructions in the video but that didnt work for me

any pointers greatly appreciated – i reviewed the other posts – am thinking do i need to add a specific woocommerce child page to my theme?
