Regarding your issues:
1. but It is making my page full-width without any sidebar.
Please use the element Widgetised Sidebar to add Sidebar to display in the template. See the screenshot number 1 I show you. It’s an example in the template for Shop page.
2. it is screwing up the product page for the client.
Could you please give us the screenshot to explain with more details and give us an administrator account, url of the product page (via private reply) so we can check and help you.

Please find the setting option in the theme to set the product page as fullwidth layout.
If the theme is not support to set the layout fullwidth, please give us an administrator account (via private reply) so will check how the theme works and help you remove this.

You don’t need the license to update the latest version. Please navigation to Admin / Appearance > Install Plugins. And you can update the latest version included in the theme.

We have update a new update version and update the Widget import data file.
And we recommend you to use this plugin to import the Widget data json file.
